Embry-Riddle Prescott's current Eagle Works team was once known as "The Jet Dragster Project", an organization on campus designing and building the first ever student-built jet dragster. These jet dragsters were known to reach speeds of over 300 MPH from jet engines ranging from a J-85 to J-60 Pratt & Whitney engine.
The Jet Dragster Project began in 2009 and completed the first dragster in 2012, known as "Eagles Fury". Once the project was completed, the project came to an end. Now, the team wishes to explore new projects and have chosen to build the university's first electric land speed vehicle.
